The Bullhead City Animal Shelter is a safe and caring environment for lost, stray, or surrendered animals. We are committed to the health, safety, and welfare of both residents and animals and provide essential services to manage and care for the local pet population. We take in over 1,800 animals each year and operate as a no-kill facility. We’re proud to be a network partner with Best Friends Animal Society.

Our team works hard to reunite lost pets with their families, find loving homes for adoptable animals, and ensure animals are treated humanely throughout the community. We encourage responsible pet ownership by offering licenses for Bullhead City residents, vaccination clinics, and spay/neuter resources. We also regularly work with rescue groups, volunteers, and local partners to promote pet adoption and community awareness. Residents are encouraged to get involved through adoption, volunteering, or donating to support the shelter’s mission.

Coming Soon: Bullhead City Animal Resource Center (BARC)

We are currently remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into the new Bullhead City Animal Resource Center (BARC) located at 2435 Miracle Mile. This 27,353-square-foot facility will bring modern amenities such as a veterinary clinic, public dog wash, enhanced kennels and cat condos, viewing areas, and a pet crematorium, to name a few. Construction is underway with completion anticipated in spring 2026.

Once complete, BARC will replace the existing Bullhead City Animal Shelter and become the City’s central hub for animal resources such as adoptions and public education. This expanded facility will allow us to better meet the growing needs of the community and provide a higher level of care and resources for pets and their owners.

    Looking for a new furry friend? Stop by every Sunday in December from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (AZ time) at 2270 Trane Rd for a fun, pet-filled afternoon!

  • Low-Cost Veterinary Shot Clinic April 02, 2026 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    Bring your pets to our low-cost veterinary shot clinic, no appointment needed, first-come, first-served! Note: Client limit will be capped at 50. All times are listed in AZ time. The clinic is hosted by TLC Veterinary Services & Supplies LLC at the Bullhead City Animal Shelter (2270 Trane Rd), but eventually at our new facility, Bullhead City Animal Resource Center (BARC) at 2435 Miracle Mile when that opens (please call for exact location prior to each clinic as we get closer to opening BARC!).

    Tender Loving Care Veterinary Services & Supplies LLC is an Arizona-based company dedicated to providing quality care at an affordable price. TLC focuses on low-cost vaccinations and health care while promoting preventative care for pets. They offer testing for diseases like Heartworm, Feline Leukemia, and Parvo, along with other comprehensive diagnostic tests. Most results come back within one to two days and are emailed to clients for convenience. TLC provides high-quality preventative care products at prices lower than many local and national providers.
