About the Board

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals related to decisions made by the City’s zoning administrator.

Board Structure

  • The board has five members, appointed by the Bullhead City Council
  • Members serve two-year staggered terms
  • Each year, members elect a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to serve a one-year term
  • All members serve without pay
  • You must be a resident of Bullhead City to serve

Meeting Schedule

The Board of Adjustment typically meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Meetings may also be scheduled as needed.

The Building Board of Appeals reviews alternative building materials and construction methods. The board also provides reasonable interpretations of the International Building Code.

Are you interested in getting involved and making a difference in Bullhead City? Volunteer to serve on a city board, commission, or committee.

To serve, you must be a resident of the City of Bullhead City. Members are appointed by the Bullhead City Council.

Follow these steps to apply for an open position:

  1. Download and complete the application:
    Application to serve on a Bullhead City Board or Commission
  2. Submit your application to the City Clerk's Office by:

  • Your application will stay on file for six months.
  • If there are no current openings, your information will be saved and reviewed when a vacancy becomes available.
  • A list of interested residents is maintained by the City Clerk’s Office.
