Bullhead City Names Daniel G. Sharp Interim Police Chief
The City of Bullhead City has appointed Daniel “Danny” G. Sharp, M.Ed., as interim administrator for the police department, serving as chief of police, effective Monday, Sept. 22.
Sharp brings more than 33 years of law enforcement experience. He served as Chief of Police for Oro Valley, Ariz., from 2000 to 2020. Before that, he worked with the Tucson Police Department from 1978 to 2000, where he held roles including Assistant Chief of Police, Police Captain and Police Lieutenant.
His background in public safety leadership spans multiple specialties, including managing 911 operations, community policing, hostage negotiation, SWAT, patrol operations, central investigations and communications.
Sharp holds a Master of Education in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice management from LaSalle University. He is also a 1997 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Sharp will succeed Chief Robert Trebes, who announced his retirement effective Sept. 17 after serving the community with distinction as Chief of Police since February 2021.
“A national search will begin today for a permanent replacement,” said Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter. “Bullhead City is a great community. The Bullhead City Council and management strongly support the police department. We will select a new chief to continue leading the department and community forward for years to come.”
