Weekly Update
City Wide Maintenance Projects - 10/26 - 11/1
City of Bullhead City staff, City contractors, and Utility companies within city limits will work on the following projects during the week of Oct. 27:
· McCormick Construction will continue building a new southbound right-hand turn lane along Highway 95 between Marina Blvd and Riverview Dr.
· City Maintenance crews continue with storm cleanup around the City. Use the Bullhead City Direct app available on Android or IOS to report issues related to storm damage.
· A new prefabricated bathroom has been placed at the ATV/UTV trailhead on Silvercreek Rd. The new amenity should be completed and opened to the public in early November.
· Bullhead City Street Maintenance crews will slurry seal select streets between Marina Blvd and Hancock Rd near Colorado Blvd and Riverwood Ln, as a part of the 2025-2026 City Street Maintenance Program. Learn more about the City Street Maintenance Program, and view the complete list of streets scheduled for service at bullheadcityaz.gov/csmp.
· Bullhead City Public Works crews will continue improving the fields and new playground at Bullhead City Middle School. Once completed, the facilities will serve as a school field and playground during school hours, and a City park outside of school hours. The project provides the school with new and improved facilities for students and a new public park for the residents of Bullhead City.
· City Parks Maintenance staff are in the final stages of reseeding the City’s sports fields with winter grass. All sports fields across the city have been scalped and seeded with winter grass. The East and West soccer fields and the Softball fields at Rotary Park remain closed while the new winter grass establishes.
· Contractors working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will complete various asphalt and concrete repairs around the City in places where recent water line repairs were made.
· Precise Builders is remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into the new Bullhead Animal Resource Center. The facility, which will feature expanded capacity, a veterinary clinic, a dog washing station, a pet crematorium, and more, is expected to open in the coming winter.
· Bullhead City Public Works Crews are making enhancements outside of the future BARC building. An outdoor shade structure was recently installed next to the facility for animal enrichment. Future improvements include landscaping and fencing.
· Kay Constructors LLC, under contract with Bullhead City Utilities, is building a new headworks and aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant. The projects will enhance the city’s ability to reclaim water and safeguard the facility's infrastructure against damage from foreign materials in the system.
· Bullhead City Utilities will install new fire hydrants and iHydrants at various locations around the city. Installing new hydrants may require planned outages for a few hours in the areas where they are installed. The project continues to replace the City’s oldest and least functional hydrants with new intelligent hydrants that can monitor the City’s water infrastructure for issues and facilitate faster response times to system leaks.
· Kay Constructors, on behalf of Bullhead City, is installing well 20-1 on the northern side of Riverview Drive between Highway 95 and Lakeside Drive. Riverview Drive and Kaibab Drive will be repaved after pressure testing is completed. Riverview Drive will remain open with metal plates covering the trench until the road is repaved.
The City reminds the public to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through other means to avoid damage to the city’s infrastructure.
Please use caution while traveling through City work zones. Obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
The public is encouraged to use the Bullhead City Direct app, available for Android and IOS devices, to report issues around the city directly to the City Staff who resolve them. Visit bullheadcity.com/BullheadCityDirect for more information.
