City of Bullhead City Utilities Department Hosting Town Hall Meetings on Upcoming Rate Increases
The City of Bullhead City Utilities Department will host a series of public town hall meetings to provide information about the upcoming water and sewer rate increases that take effect January 1, 2026.
The new rates were approved by the Bullhead City Council on September 16, following two public hearings. The meetings will give residents the opportunity to learn more about the changes, ask questions, and better understand their utility bills before the new rates go into effect.
City Utilities staff will also provide information about the Utilities Assistance and Discount Program (UADP), which helps qualifying customers reduce their monthly bills and maintain access to essential services. This program supports eligible groups such as low-income households, active-duty deployed military members, and disabled veterans.
“We’re sensitive to the needs of low-income customers, those who served, and anyone who might find themselves in a financially challenging situation- we’re here to help. Our goal is to make sure every resident has access to the resources they need as these new rates take effect,” said Assistant Bullhead City Manager Edigar Kajirwa. “Since taking over from EPCOR the city hasn’t raised rates, keeping to its promise. At the same time, we have faced rising inflation, high market volatility, rising project costs, materials, labor, and aging infrastructure. We’re also in a period of heavy investment in a long-neglected water system as we work to develop a robust, high-quality, dependable service, with the goal of delivering the best possible service to all our residents. Our team members will be on site, helping answer customer questions about their bills, the rate increases, our discount program, and the water system.”
All three meetings will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Bullhead City Council Chambers, 1255 Marina Boulevard, on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 29
- Wednesday, November 19
- Wednesday, December 10
During each session, City Utilities staff will explain how rates are determined, the reasons for the adjustments, and how the revenues are used to maintain and improve Bullhead City’s water and sewer systems.
Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in any of the scheduled meetings to learn more, ask questions, and understand their bills.
