Court Photography and Video Recording Policy
Photography, video recording, and audio recording are restricted inside Mohave County court facilities. These rules are in place to protect courthouse security and ensure court operations are not disrupted.
Rules That Apply
- Arizona Supreme Court Rule 122 – Recording devices are prohibited in courtrooms unless advance permission is granted by the judge.
- Arizona Supreme Court Rule 122.1 – Judges, clerks, and court administrators may limit or terminate recording activity that disrupts operations or compromises security.
- Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 2017-79 – Authorizes presiding judges in each county to establish security policies and procedures.
- Mohave County Superior Court Administrative Order No. 2019-19 – Prohibits the use of cameras in court buildings unless advance permission is given by the presiding judge.
Violation Consequences
- If you are observed violating court rules on photography or video recording, you will be directed to stop recording immediately.
- If you refuse, you will be required to leave the court facility.
- If you continue to refuse, law enforcement will be called. You may:

- Be removed from the facility.
- Be arrested.
- Be held in contempt of court.
- Face criminal charges, including:

- A.R.S. § 13-1502 / 13-1503 – Criminal Trespass
- A.R.S. § 13-2904(A)(1)-(4) – Disorderly Conduct
- A.R.S. § 13-2921(A)(2)-(4) – Harassment
