The Bullhead City Police Department offers a safe, anonymous way to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications.
You can drop off medications at the Police Department lobby, located at:
1255 Marina Boulevard
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Look for the secure drop-off slot at the front counter.
Why It Matters
Many abused prescription drugs are obtained from family or friends—often from medicine cabinets. Safely disposing of unused medications helps:
- Prevent accidental or intentional misuse
- Reduce access to addictive or harmful substances
- Protect the environment by keeping drugs out of landfills and sewer systems
How to Prepare Your Medications
- Place pills in a zip-top bag (bags are available at the counter for free)
- Blister packs may be deposited in their original packaging
- Remove or black out personal information before throwing away empty prescription bottles
- Once dropped off, medications are considered abandoned property and will be destroyed
Accepted Items
- Expired or unwanted prescription medications
- Over-the-counter medications
Not Accepted
- Syringes or injectables
- Liquid medications (e.g., cough syrup)
- Intravenous (IV) solutions
- Illegal drugs
- Mail, plastic containers, or trash
