Please review these before you swim.

Lane Designations
  • When the pool is busy, swim lanes will be shared.

  • Lifeguards may assist you with selecting the appropriate lane or ask you to move if your speed is not similar to those in your lane.

Entering the Water
  • Always enter feet first from the shallow end.

  • Check that the lane is clear before entering.

  • Wait for swimmers approaching the wall to complete their turn before entering.

Entering the Water
  • Always enter feet first from the shallow end.

  • Check that the lane is clear before entering.

  • Wait for swimmers approaching the wall to complete their turn before entering.

Circle Swimming
  • Follow the standard counterclockwise pattern (keep to the right).

  • Make sure others in the lane are aware when you join.

  • Swim full laps; avoid stopping mid-lane.

  • Rest only at the wall, and stay in the corner to keep the middle clear for turns.

Speed and Courtesy
  • Slower swimmers must yield to faster swimmers.

  • If a faster swimmer is behind you at the wall, pause to let them pass.

  • Leave space between you and the swimmer ahead.

Passing
  • Pass on the left-hand side.

  • If being overtaken at the wall, stop and allow the swimmer to push off.

  • Pass early enough to complete before the wall.

  • When using a kickboard, be mindful of others needing to pass.
