Sewer Districts

Sewer Improvement Districts

The City of Bullhead City currently has one active sewer improvement district.

In 1997, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) filed a lawsuit against the City due to elevated nitrate levels in the groundwater. As a result, the City was required to replace septic systems with sewer infrastructure in three critical areas.

These improvements were necessary to protect public health and the environment. Property owners within the improvement district agreed to fund the project through special assessments.
