Service Animals, Pets, & Caregivers

We are happy to assist riders with service animals, pets, and caregivers. Our team is here to ensure you and your companions have a safe and comfortable experience when using BATS.

The Bullhead Area Transit System (BATS) welcomes service animals and allows them to ride free of charge.

  • Service animals must remain under the handler’s control at all times.
  • They may not sit on passenger seats and must sit or lie on the floor.
  • Service will be denied if the animal is aggressive, disruptive to transit operations, or not housebroken.

BATS also allows pets to travel free of charge.

  • All pets must be in a secure pet carrier.
  • Carriers must not take up a passenger seat.

Passengers with disabilities who need assistance are encouraged to have a registered caregiver or personal care attendant ride with them.

  • PCAs and caregivers ride free when traveling with the passenger between the same origin and destination.
  • To register a caregiver or PCA, contact BATS Dispatch at (928) 704-2287.
