Their presence helps prevent crime, resolve conflicts, and encourage open communication between law enforcement and students & staff.

COPS Unit
The Bullhead City Police Department’s COPS Unit is dedicated to building strong relationships between officers and the community. This team works closely with residents, businesses, and local organizations to identify concerns, address problems, and create long-term solutions that improve safety and quality of life in our city.
- Community Engagement – attending neighborhood meetings, events, and presentations to listen, educate, and connect with residents.
- Problem-Solving – working with citizens to find practical solutions to issues like recurring crime, nuisance activity, or neighborhood concerns.
- Crime Prevention – providing resources, outreach, and education to help reduce crime before it happens.
- Support for Vulnerable Populations – partnering with service providers, such as our BACCUP team, to assist individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use, or mental health challenges.

Boating Safety
During the summer months, when school is not in session, our SROs join our boating team to patrol the Colorado River and help keep our waterways safe.
The Bullhead City Police Department emphasizes the importance of sober operation, life jacket use, and respectful behavior on the water.
