Engineering - Subdivisions

Engineering is responsible for engineering work related to streets, utilities, and capital improvement programs.  Staff reviews various types of submittals for compliance with city codes regarding grading, retention and off-site improvements. Engineering administers permits and inspections for right-of-way and encroachment permits.

 

Subdivisions

Lists may not be inclusive of all requirements for Preliminary and Final Plat Submittals. Refer to the Planning and Zoning Division page or call 928-763-0123 for a complete list of requirements.

Requirements for Subdivision Submittal

Engineering Plan Review Fees are $325.00 per plan sheet reviewed and are applied to the Right-of-Way Permit as the fees. 

After all documentation requested during the review process has been received and approved, Engineering will request the “Notice of Professional Inspection of Grading” form sealed and signed by the Civil and Soils Engineers and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) "Construction Authorization for a Sewage Collection System” form. Once these items are received, the right-of-way permit can be issued. The following must be on file prior to permit issuance:

    • Acceptable Liability Insurance

    • Current City Business License

    • Current Registrar of Contractors License

Certification of Grading form is submitted upon completion of the grading.

Requirements for Preliminary Plats

The Planning and Zoning Division routes the following Preliminary Plat documentation to the Engineering Division for review:

  • Preliminary Plat Map

  • Preliminary Grading Plan Including Sewer Design

  • Geotechnical Report or Soils Letter from the Civil Engineer

  • Preliminary Drainage Study

  • Wastewater Design Concept Report

  • Water Design Concept Report (if located within Bullhead City's municipal water service area)

Engineering notifies Planning and Zoning by memorandum if additional information is required or if the submittal is approved.

Requirements for Final Plats

The Planning and Zoning Division routes the following Final Plat documentation to the Engineering Division for review:

  • One set each of the following plans with each set stapled independently of each other:

    • Grading Plans

    • Sewer Plans

    • Paving (Street) Plans

    • Striping and Signage Plans

    • Street Light Plans

    • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan

    • Water Plans (if located within Bullhead City's municipal water service area)

  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Report

  • Wastewater Design Concept Report

  • Water Design Concept Report (if located within Bullhead City's municipal water service area)

  • Final Drainage Study

  • Geotechnical Report or Soils Letter from the Civil Engineer

  • Traffic Analysis Report or Traffic Letter from Engineer

  • Engineer’s Cost Estimate for All Improvements

  • Engineering Plan Review Fees

Fees

Development and permit fees can be complicated to calculate.  We can provide an estimate upon request.  Final fees are calculated during the plan review process.

  • Engineering - Plan Review $325 per plan sheet

  • Right-of-Way Permit - $100.00 per permit

  • Encroachment permit - $100.00 permit
