Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP)

About the Project

The Bullhead Area Transit System (BATS) is updating its Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP) to identify opportunities to enhance transit service and strengthen connections throughout the community. As Bullhead City continues to grow, this study will help establish a vision for the future of public transportation and identify practical strategies to enhance mobility for residents, employees, students, and visitors.

Through data analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and public input, the study will evaluate how BATS is performing today and explore ways to better serve the community's transportation needs over the next five years and beyond.

What Will the SRTP do?

The SRTP will:

  • Evaluate BATS' current performance and compare it to similar transit systems.
  •  Assess community transportation needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop short-term recommendations and a long-term vision for the future of transit in Bullhead City
  • Identify strategies and investments that can improve mobility, access, and system effectiveness.

Planning Process

The SRTP will be developed through a six-step planning process designed to evaluate existing transit services, gather community input, and identify future recommendations.

Study Area

The study area includes Bullhead City and surrounding portions of Mohave County. While the focus of the study is on the existing BATS system, the plan will also evaluate opportunities for future transit expansion to support regional mobility needs.

We Want to Hear From You!

Public involvement activities will be added to this page as they become available. Community feedback will help identify transit needs, evaluate potential enhancements, and inform recommendations for the future of BATS. Residents, riders, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to participate throughout the study process.

Want to Talk More about Transportation in Bullhead City?

BHCMPO is developing its first Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) to guide transportation investments in the region for the next 25 years. The RTP will analyze travel data and evaluate project needs to establish recommended transportation projects as well as potential funding and implementation opportunities.
