Tactical Response Unit
The Tactical Response Unit (T.R.U.) is a specialized division that handles high-risk incidents requiring advanced training and coordination.
T.R.U. is made up of four specialized teams:
- Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT)
- Bomb Technicians
- Crisis Negotiations Team
- Communication Specialists
T.R.U. responds to:
- High-risk situations
- Felony search warrants
- Barricaded subjects
- Hostage situations and crisis negotiations
- Bomb threats and calls involving explosives
T.R.U. teams participate in monthly training exercises, including realistic emergency response drills at businesses and schools to ensure readiness.
Dive Team
The Bullhead City Police Department Dive Team is made up of sworn officers who are certified in emergency response diving and swift water rescue. The team also provides assistance to surrounding agencies during critical water-related incidents.
Dive Team responsibilities include:
- Body recovery
- Swift water rescue
- Underwater evidence search and recovery
- Underwater investigations
- Maintenance of navigation aids
The team continuously trains in river diving, search and recovery, deep diving, oxygen administration, first aid, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and rescue.
