Time Off
The City provides a variety of paid and protected leave programs to support your health, family needs, and work-life balance. Paid time off allows you to rest and recharge, while other types of leave provide flexibility when personal or family matters arise.
Paid Holidays
Vacation Leave
Vacation leave accrues each year based on your position and years of service.

Time off requests must be approved in advance by your supervisor

Unused vacation may be carried over up to the maximum allowed by City policy
Personal Leave

Each benefit-eligible employee accrues 96 hours of personal leave per year

Personal leave may be used after one month of employment

Provides flexibility to attend to personal matters or unexpected needs
Bereavement Leave

Full-time employees may be granted:

24 hours (3 days) of leave following the death of an immediate family member

If out-of-state travel is required, up to 40 hours (5 days) may be granted

Bereavement leave is separate from vacation or personal leave balances
Jury Duty, Military Leave, and FMLA

The City follows all applicable federal and state laws and provides:

Jury Duty Leave: Paid leave for required jury service

Military Leave: Up to 30 days of paid military leave in any two consecutive years

Family and Medical Leave (FMLA): Up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per calendar year for eligible reasons (birth/adoption, serious personal or family illness, etc.)

Costs to Employees

All vacation, personal, and bereavement leave is provided as a paid benefit

Jury duty, military leave, and FMLA are provided in accordance with City policy and federal/state regulations, at no cost to you
Accessing Your Benefits

Submit leave requests through NeoGov or by contacting your supervisor

Provide required documentation (jury summons, military orders, FMLA certification, etc.) as needed
