Public Works
The Bullhead City Public Works Department oversees the upkeep and improvement of the community’s infrastructure. Its responsibilities range from maintaining streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems to managing city vehicles and public facilities. The department also coordinates major construction and capital projects, all with the goal of keeping the city safe, functional, and well cared for.

Parks Maintenance
The Parks Maintenance Division keeps City parks, trails, athletic fields, the municipal pool, and Colorado River beaches safe and welcoming. The team also cares for the Optimum Community Center, Colorado River Nature Center, Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Park, and landscaping at City facilities. In addition, they provide support for community and City events.
Recreation
The Recreation Division offers a wide range of events and activities for the community. Programs are designed for all ages and abilities, providing both active and leisure opportunities. The division also manages the Optimum Community Center.
Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
The Public Works Department's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) strives to keep our infrastructure (streets, parks, water, and wastewater programs) current with our population needs. We maintain and improve our road network, improve our park system, and accommodate future growth of our water and wastewater systems.
Street Maintenance
The Street Maintenance Division is responsible for keeping Bullhead City’s infrastructure safe and reliable. The team repairs and resurfaces streets, maintains sidewalks, curbs, ramps, and shoulders, and manages storm drains, washes, and retention facilities. They also handle alleyways, streetlights, signage, and traffic signals to support safe travel throughout the community
Administration
A Public Works Administrator oversees city services and infrastructure that support daily community life. They manage operations such as streets, sanitation, water, sewer, parks, and facilities. Their role includes budgeting, planning projects, supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining safe, reliable public infrastructure for residents.
Park Rangers
The City of Bullhead City Park Rangers patrol parks, trails, and recreation facilities daily to keep them safe, clean, and welcoming. They provide security, assist with events, support police and safety teams, and serve as ambassadors by helping visitors and sharing information. Their work ensures residents and visitors can enjoy the City’s outdoor spaces with confidence.
Fleet Maintenance
The Fleet Division manages the purchase, repair, and maintenance of the City’s vehicles and equipment. The 433-unit fleet includes police vehicles, utility trucks, heavy equipment, lawn mowers, tractors, and 24 generators. The division also operates the City’s fuel facility, providing fuel service for all vehicles and equipment.
Facilities Management
The Facilities Management Division oversees maintenance and repair for all City-owned buildings. Services include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, minor remodeling, and a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. The division also provides custodial services for all City facilities.
