Difference Between the City Prosecutor’s Office and the Mohave County Attorney’s Office

The City Prosecutor’s Office handles the prosecution and review of misdemeanor charges that occur within Bullhead City limits. The office works closely with the Bullhead City Police Department in carrying out these responsibilities.

The Mohave County Attorney’s Office is a county-wide, elected office. It is responsible for prosecuting and reviewing felony cases—such as murder, robbery, and sexual assault—throughout Mohave County, including within Bullhead City. The County Attorney also prosecutes misdemeanor cases that occur outside Bullhead City limits. In addition, the County Attorney’s Office operates its own Victim Advocacy Program to support victims of the crimes it prosecutes.

Victim Advocacy Program

The Victim Advocacy Program, part of the City Prosecutor’s Office, is supervised by the Victim Services Coordinator. The program ensures that crime victims are informed of and able to exercise their rights under Arizona law.

How the Program Can Help You

Victim advocates provide guidance, resources, and support throughout the criminal justice process. Services include:

  • Answering questions and providing a safe space to share concerns

  • Helping prepare victim impact statements for court

  • Assisting with information needed to request restitution for financial losses

  • Offering guidance on seeking orders of protection
